This weekend I had the pleasure of covering an event presented by True beauty studios. The event covered everything from natural hair care to bridal gown collections. Owner of True Beauty Studios set out to bring Hampton Roads an event like no other. It's rare that you see events that have all 3 components that this event had, it was power packed with information and loaded with tons of vendors.
Keynote speaker Jonna Scott-Blakes of Naturally-Glam.com spoke on the importance of branding. This was the perfect subject to speak on given the networking opportunity the event offered. Jonna gave some suggestions on how to better take your brand to the next level:
1. Pick a standout name
2. Do your research to make sure that the name is not already taken
3. Focus on what your business is going to be about
4. Stay relevant & consistent

Master hair stylist and salon owner Fawnne of Salon Noa in Virginia Beach, Va was another guest speaker and she provided healthy hair care tips regardless if you are natural or not. For the fashion portion of the event Richmond Designers Chrissy Crawford(L) of shoprunwaycouture.com & Lakisha Greene(R) of Lelamonefashioninc.com had their lines rip the runway. These ladies are definitely trend setters and blazing ahead in their own lanes. Fashion is more than just about the clothes, it's how you achieve your own personal style that sets you apart.
