Style Stalk Friday: Ighorodje Elizabeth

Well hello there loves. It has been a while since we have had a style stalk feature. Not because there are no amazing fashionistas, but because I had one heck of a November. With that being said I am hopeful that the last month in 2014 will be the best yet. Sooooooo it's Friday and we all know what day that is***** Yup Yup it's Style Stalk Friday!! It's the day I most look forward to, and I am sure you do to..

This week we are featuring the beautiful Idhorodje Elizabeth, her style is down right a breath of fresh air. She finds a way to recognized trends while not getting lost in them. Her style is comfortable all while remaining chic, you don't see her always rocking the highest stiletto, but she is still fabulous. That to me is a true fashionista!!!

1. When did you fall in love with fashion?

I've always had a "weird" love for fashion. "Weird" because I loved seeing the way people dressed and put outfits together but didn't like dressing up myself.. But as I grew older, I began to appreciate fashion even more..I started learning how to put different outfits together in my own way and actually pulling it off.lol. If I loved an outfit, I would copy it but always put my own flare to make it represent me and how I am,because I believe everyone needs to have a unique style..

2 Who/What are you fashion inspirations?

My fashion inspirations has to be Lua(IG name:luanna90), Zendaya Coleman and Taylor Swift. The first two are because I really admire tomboy fashion and Taylor because I love her body and simply the way clothes look on her.

3. How would you describe your style?
I describe my style as simple, classy and dope. And I love daring and unique outfits...

Extras: I feel fashion is not really about buying the most expensive clothes or wearing the best brands or wearing multiple colors or looking slutty..I even feel you are fashionable if you can make a pair of jeans and a T-shirt look dope and classy..(well, my opinion anyways)

Don't let the inspiration stop here. Follow her @fantazzy93 and get your daily dose of fabulous!!

Red Kat Salon: No Shade Hair & Entertainment expo recap!

A couple weekends ago I had the pleasure of covering the No Shade Hair & Entertainment Expo presented by Red Kat Salon. Let me just start off by saying this event was amazing, it had all the elements for a GRAND event. The event took place at De Ja Vu restaurant and lounge in Newport News, VA. The entire venue was filled with natural hair, fashion entertainers, vendors and much more.

The event was host by radio personality  J-Rod( @jtalk100), he is pictured above with the special guest for the night Aevin Dugas(www.aevindugas.com) who currently holds the Guinness book world record for the largest afro.

Pictured above is Renee owner of Red Kat Salon and creator of No Shade Hair and entertainment expo. Renee was looking to bring Hampton Roads an elite event that included entertainment, expert panel, giveaways, vendors and an amazing atmosphere. Renee definitely has the vision to make this event annual, and I would have to agree with her.

Some of the artist that performed pictured below:

Songtress Vannessa Blanco                           Spoken word artist, Yolanda Bibbs

Boutique Crush as also in the building, showcasing some of their latest trends.
Make sure you check them out at www.boutiquecrush.com

Nikki J was in the building behind the scenes and on the main stage!

It was a pleasure to learn about the journey of Aevin Dugas. Her and her fro are taking over one beauty at a time. She was extremely humble and think most would have been surprised to hear about her wash regime and products she liked to use. She is a true testament that if you take care of your hair, it will take care of you!

This event truly left you wanting more, I would definitely encourage Red Kat Salon to make this even annual and even take it on the road. Whenever naturalallurememoirs.com gets a chance to support events right here in Hampton Roads we jump at the opportunity. You can keep up with what is next for Red Kat by following Renee on instagram @purrrfectlynatural or on www.redkatsalon.com.

Make sure that you subscribe so that you will be one of the first to know about events like this and others going on right here in Hampton Roads.

Style Stalk Friday: Eunice

Friday brings lots of relief from the hectic and busy week, however for my readers it also brings what now should be your favorite day of the week on the blog . Style Stalk Friday!! I think it is time to officially name this day. I have been doing features for a while and consistently posted on Fridays, so it only made sense to make it a official. This week we feature fellow blogger and style maven Eunice of glossylipz.com. Eunice is a fashion blogger and model, born in Ghana now living in the UK she is no stranger to love of fashion we all share. Her blog started out as just a hobby and quickly found herself sharing her love for fashion with the world.

1. When did you fall in love with fashion?

Have always loved fashion and I remember very well when I was in junior secondary school back home in Ghana I always wanted to look good especially on Saturday classes when we get to dress casual, and as a child back in the days when my parents could not afford  many stylish clothes however I would always make sure I looked my best in what I had until I could afford and make my own choices.

2. Who/What are your style inspirations?

"StyleIsMything" really inspires me her style is just out of this world and anything to do with shoes, bags, accessories and clothes also inspires me a lot, not forgetting when I see other girl just rocking the high street style with such confident.

3. How would you describe your style?

I will describe my style as trendy and very much girly, I love to keep up with the latest fashion and I dress according to how I feel on any particular day and my look always has a very feminine flair to it.

Makeup Mondays: Featuring Ariell Ash

Happy Monday everyone. I hope everyone had an amazing & productive weekend. With fall quickly making each departure and old man winter taking it's place, Ariell continues with the love of all things lips. Check out what goodies Ariell has to share with us this week.

Sephora Cream Lip Stains
This make up Monday I want to highlight fall lip colors. I think three colors that are E sensual for fall is a nude color a nice red and a beautiful dark plum color. With these three colors you would definitely have a lip for any occasion. I recently purchased these cream lip stains in the colors always red (red), classic beige (nude), and dark berry (dark plum). These colors dry to a matte finish and the pigmentation is amazing. I've attached my YouTube video with the full review of these colors.

My experience: Simply Stylist Conference

The past few weeks I have been gearing up for my first Simply Stylist Conference. I was beyond excited, thrilled to say the least. This experience as going to be so game changing for me. It was going to put me in a setting with people who have a similar mindset and career goals as I do.

What I would take away from this event would be priceless. Founder Sarah Boyd knew exactly what the industry needed when she created Simply Stylist. This event is geared towards bloggers, designers, brand owners, stylist and simply any entrepreneur who is looking to be inspired to continue building their empire.

Hosted by Catt Sadler of E! News, there was no shortage of amazing in the building. Interviews with some of the industries top experts and bloggers, there was no stone left unturned.

The day started with a VIP brunch, followed by a panel of style experts & fashion Icons.

I thought this picture was so ironic and true to the everyday life of a women. Catt Sadler & keynote speaker Jamie Chung doing the infamous tuck while Jamie shared her journey and gives some deets on her new blog whatthechung. She gave some amazing insight on her thoughts on blogging and how she doesn't take too serious, the most important thing is to love what you do.

The other keynote speaker Joe Zee was a bottle of energy and he definitely passed it on to everyone in the room. Joe Zee shared how he has maintained longevity in the fashion industry and he plans to continue to do what he loves until it is no longer fun. Joe Zee is now taking on the digital world by joining Yahoo to launch Yahoo mail. Listening to Joe Zee's story I felt like I went along with him on every adventure the fashion world could take him. It was interesting to learn that Zee had nay sayers early in his career, one person telling him he would never work for a magazine. Joe Zee has broken barriers in the fashion world and it was a life changing experience to her him tell about it.

The day did not end with those 2 iconic keynote speakers, the day was power packed with so many amazing people, pictured below are just a few of the people that shared their journey with us.

Jacey Duprie

Danielle Berstein

Left: Jessica Minkoff of Marie Claire Right: Elenor Mak of Keaton Row

Justin Anderson, Celebrity Hair Colorist

Madison Guest, Celebrity Stylist

Hannah Bronfman of Beautified & Jennifer Norman of Derma e were also in the building.

This event was absolutely amazing and  I will definitely be attending next year. I would love to go to a different city, since it is held in Los Angeles, Chicago and New York. The things you will learn at this event will stay with you for a life time. I would also recommend you have the VIP experience, you will not regret it. Sarah Boyd made sure all attendees left knowing that they had just made a smart investment in their future.

VIP attendees walked away with some amazing gift bags, I mean what more can a girl ask for?

Don't just take my word for it, head over to simplystylist.com to learn more about past events & how you can attend in 2015.
