Style spin: Be inspired

I love to surf the web and social media and be inspired. In today's post I will share with you two ladies who outfit inspired me and I decided to put my own spin on it. Style is the foundation of fashion, so its important that with anything you be you and put your own stamp on it.
I came across this beautiful fashionista on instagram. I always loved the denim on denim look and when I saw how she put her's together that got my wheels turning about what I had in my closet. This outfit has just the right amount of  simple mixed with statement that any fashion girl would love to make.  Follower her on instagram @_irock.

I have been following this style blogger/cosmotolegist  for quite some time now and I can say that she always serves. Tres Chic is the perfect statement for this style diva, her looks are always so well put together. A pop of color can always add that perfect something to your look. Oh did I mention she can beat a mean face, she is a well rounded diva that will never give you anything less than fabulous. Follow her

Plaid is here to stay!

I think it is safe to assume that plaid will be around for years to come. Its the pattern that fashion can not get enough of, from A list celebs to your all American girl next door. It may be hard to believe that the pattern dates back to the 1800's and is mostly associated with the Scottish kilts. Who would of thought that a pattern with so much history could contribute so much to the fashion world. When it comes to plaid rapper/producer/fashion designer Pharell Williams shows there is no shortage in his wardrobe, the super producer loved the pattern so much that him and his beautiful bride Helen Lasichanh exchanged wedding vows in it. Catch the details of their October 12th wedding here. Needless to say plaid is here to stay and quite honestly I am excited to see what designers will come up with next for. Below check out some of your favorite celebs and how they rocked their plaid.

OOTD: Denim fab

Today's look was inspired by the denim on denim from craze that is sweeping the fashion nation. Now let's not forget this fade or trend is nothing new, it has been around for years. I myself simple love the contrast that a medium
dark denim and a dark denim give when paired with gold accessories. (I am a sucker for gold jewelry) I paired my Miley Cyrus denim button up with a pair of distressed skinnys from Old Navy. Shoes are from Kohls and I have to say that mustard is a color I think looks amazing against darker skin tones. Have fun with your wardrobe, mix and match you never know what you will find.

Real Talk Wednesdays: Fashion edition, Ralph Lauren

I decided to do a fashion edition for this week's Real Talk Wednesday. Who better than the legendary Ralph Lauren. At one point in time Ralph Lauren was thought to be a line for the preppy, art deco well to do American, which couldn't be further from the truth. Lauren was selling the American dream where everything and everyone had its place.
He was able to build his $4.5 billion global business by selling consumers his vision of how America should be. Throughout the years Ralph Laurens designs remained consistent
by staying true to his
clean all American look,  that is why he has been able to remain on top of the fashion game for 5 decades. He started with men's
neckties in 1967 and now he has clothes, furniture, fragrances and so much more. Below take a look.at his 2013 fall collection.

Celebrity style stalking: Kerry Washington

Style stalking couldn't get any better than with the beautiful Keri Washington. Her style is so refreshing, she never does too much.
Her style is what I would like to call "whitehouse fresh" lol. I thought she was a great pick especially with the premiere of scandal last night. She had fashion lovers in Ah with her gorgeous Burberry trenchcoat from their 2013 Spring collection. You can catch Ms. Washington as Olivia Pope Thursdays @10pm Est.

Real Talk Wednesday: A little blogger motivation

I just wanted to take some time out to speak to my fellow beginner bloggers. I have been blogging for a couple of months and I knew that it was going to take some work. However I wasn’t at all prepared for the amount of work it truly takes to manage a successful blog. There are countless hours dedicated to research and making your blog look presentable. Not to mention the equipment needed to be able to post quality content. It seems a bit overwhelming right? Well as the old saying goes anything worth having is worth working for. It may seem that in the beginning we are writing to ourselves because we have no audience, but you must keep in mind that all of your favorite bloggers started out exactly like this. It takes time and consistency to build a strong following. It also takes networking and understanding that there is now way you can do this alone. I know that it seems scary, but I know that we all have a vision for our blog and no matter what obstacles stand in our way with hard work and determination we can be successful. There is nothing more important than writing about your passion, what really moves you. With that in mind you will be well on your way to having a successful blog. There will be things along the way that may discourage you, but know you are not alone!!
