Real Talk Wednesdays: Reality check!!!
We can to often get caught up with the superfluous things of this world as if nothing else exists. We are a materialistic brain washed society of the have and the have not's. We have become a nation with a lost self-identity. We only follow the latest fad or trends that are displayed in a vain fashion. We have become accustomed to half-dressed women and overly violent television to the point where our human compassion as become immune to the narcissistic behavior of those around us. Each of us afraid to stand out, for fear that we may stand alone. SO WHAT??? Originality has been stretched to the limit and is overshadowed by stagnant copycats. People are afraid to be themselves because when you are in your own headspace you are ostracized for being too different from the "Societal Norm". Wouldn't you rather stand for something than fall for anything??? It's easier for us to belittle and degrade one another but hard as hell for us to stand by and support one another. Love and be loved. Each one teaches one. These are phrases that have somehow gotten placed in the back of our minds and replaced with unnecessary distractions. A sicken epidemic that is being passed from generation to generation. We are responsible for what we teach our children and it shows what is being passed down isn't worth much. We focus onto much of negative news, images and thoughts. When will enough be enough, how many lives must be lost before we realize how precious it is. A million acts of kindness go unnoticed overshadowed by the one inhumane act. All day we are being bombarded with negativity from all sides Gossip, News, Music, Television and people in our lives. It is time to break free from the pressure of mediocrity and listlessness. What's wrong with this picture? I challenge you today and every day to be that difference; that person that stands for something, not the person that falls for anything.

Real Talk Wednesdays: Forgiveness
Why does it seem that forgiving someone is the hardest thing for us to do? When someone has hurt us or done us wrong we tend to hold on to the pain, rather than forgive him or her. Do we think that if we forgive a person we are weaker because we are not being typical in holding on to the initial hurt feelings? Choosing to reevaluate the situation and be the bigger person has its rewards. Our belief is that if we don't grant forgiveness we are hurting them, the same way they hurt us. This way of thinking is crippling to a positive state of mind. When we choose not to forgive someone we are actually hurting ourselves more. Forgiving someone releases the negative energy that is caused by that adverse situation. The process of forgiving someone who has done you wrong is not an easy one, but it is a goal that can be attained. When we choose to walk around with an unforgiving heart it can affect so many other areas of our life without us knowing. By not forgiving we build up anxiety, stress and negative feelings towards that person. This will always take over when that person is mentioned or seen. Nothing should have that much control over you. Liberate yourself, your emotions and forgive. Positivity and understanding what forgiveness unlocks is the key to a happier live. If there are person/persons in your life that have hurt you I challenge you today to make an effort to forgive them.

OOTD
Today outfit was inspired by the skirt I am wearing. It was passed down to me by my 2nd mother and I love it. She has all kinds of vintage pieces on her closet. I love to thrift, but it's even better when you get pieces given to you. Ladies check out your mother's, aunties and grandmother's closets they just might have done awesome pieces to add to your collection.

Get the kids involved!!
Nature is something to often we take for granted. It is important the next generation knows the importants of giving back. Today Whole Foods Market sponsored a kids day of service. At our local aquarium we walked the grounds and picked up all the trash. Do you know that this year alone they collected over 11k in cigarette butts?? That can be detrimental to our wild life. The kids did such a wonderful job. We were able to make a difference and take in some of the sights of some really cool things. It was a wonderful experience.

Album release
If you are a Janelle Monae fan like myself, than tomorrow is a very awesome day for you. I am in love with her energy!! She brings truth and life to an otherwise materialistic industry. She empowers women of all races to be the best they can be. The electric lady will be her 2nd studio album and she says it was inspired by Bo Diddley and calls with Erykah Badu. I am sure this album will be filled with chart toppers and life changers. Patiently waiting.........
