Monday beauty favs: WetnWild +Giveaway

Lately I have become obsessed with WetnWild lip colors. I thought I found something special in the Mega last collection, because I think I have every color and they are super affordable $2.00 to be exact. I've personally never seen them anywhere for more than $2.99. In my pursuit for every color they carried I also discovered the mega slicks balm stain, which is also super affordable at $2.99. I don't know about you, but my obsession with makeup wouldn't allow me to afford every single high end cosmetic out there, it just isn't possible for me. WetnWild is an affordable cosmetic line that will not only be light on your pocket, it will give you just as much pigment as some high end brands.

If you have never tried WetnWild products I encourage you to try them or at least my favs. Lol You do not have to spend a ton of money to obtain the same results.

Try them out and let me know which one is your favorite.

Recap: Natural Hair "Hot Topic" presented by Salon Noa

This weekend I had the pleasure of covering the amazing event Natural Hair "Hot Topic". The event was presented by Salon Noa. I can start out by saying the event was filled with natural hair care professionals & blogger gurus.

Hosted by the ever enchanting Charity Gibson every natural hair "hot topic" was in discussion

Topics up for discussion :
T-shirt Vs. Towel dry
True trim Vs. Dusting Off Ends
Color Vs. No Color

OK above is listed a couple of the topics that were in heavy rotation. One of which was Color Vs. No Color this is a topic that is near & dear to my heart, being as though I like to consider myself the color queen. lol  We learned that out of all the box hair color in circulation, Dark N Lovely is the worst for dying our natural hair. This came as quite some surprise because when I rocked my short cut I was quick to throw a Dark N Lovely color up in my hair. Coloring your hair is not the end all be all, however everyone's hair is not built to handle color, that is why you need to consult a professional when considering color.

Speaking of color, there was so many beautiful naturals showing of their manes, color or not!

The panel for the days event was filled with amazing stylist & natural hair bloggers.

It's always a good time when naturallyglam & naturallycreole are on a panel. They are both local bloggers/vloggers, these ladies have the know how when it comes to being natural and knowing what works for their hair & sharing some of the things that did not.

Laudia(left), from The Braid Lounge showed off some of her hot hair for the summer. Sharing that it is all about maintaining your hair while in braids & make sure you are not keeping the braids in for too long. Braids are a great protective style. Kelly(right), from Kaatwalk Hair Studios was sharing expert stylist advice about certain things you should stay away from while maintaining your natural hair. Such as using Mayonnaise, Listerine(not really sure why anyone would use this). She also shared some tips on how to protect your hair wearing it straight, such as do not over flat iron it at home, she really recommends not to flat iron as to not run the risk of damaging your hair.

Dora(right), from Truebeautystudios was also in the building sharing her expert advice about Keratin treatments. Like many shared this evening, Dora recommends that you consult a profession when considering the Keratin treatment.

The ladies of Salon Noa put together a really great event for the natural hair community in Hampton Roads.

There were many topics discussed at this event, professionals & natural hair gurus giving the do's & don'ts of natural hair. Social media is in the fore front of just about all we do, so much so we forget to make sense of what makes sense & leave the rest at the door.

You can definitely look forward to more things from Salon Noa....Stay tuned......

Style Stalking: G

This weeks style stalked is a fellow fashion blogger. Her blog whatsmoreimportantthanfashion.com displays her love for fashion from her outfit of the days, to the savviest ways to stay fly on a budget.

Fashion does not have to break the bank, style is what creates a fabulous stylista, not so much how much you spent on your outfit. Myself personally do not know a lot of women that do not have some kind of interest in fashion, if you combine that with a sensible shopping plan any girl can make sure she keeps her closet on trend & fabulous.

1.When did you fall in love with fashion?

I’ve been in love with fashion all my life!  I laugh because my Mother tells me as a child when she would put together outfits for me that I didn’t like I’d say “That don’t match.”  LOL!!  So, I guess its’ been an ongoing thing since then.

2.Who/What are your style inspirations?

I’m a fan of and inspired by those who create looks in everyday wear with a chic edginess to them.  Some of my FAVORITE fashionistas are Mary J. Blige, Monica, Kelis and Rihanna.

3.How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as Urban Classic with hints of chic edginess.  Being that I am a Financial Professional, I have to maintain a certain standard of professionalism in my attire, however I like to add layers to that classic look by adding bold and edgy elements to my look.
