OOTD: Neo Soul

When I saw this oversized fedora at forever21 I knew that this was going to be a staple piece in my wardrobe. There are certain pieces that you see wearing multiple ways, that is exactly how I feel about this hat. It is so neo soul chic!

This was the perfect accessory to compliment my Marley twist, which by the way have been an amazing protective style!

OOTD: Red Alert!!

Sometimes it is the little things in life that you don't expect that bring you the greatest joy. While sitting at home one day my sister came to visit and with her she brought these beautiful RED shoes. I couldn't wait to style them and I had the perfect pieces that were simple enough to let the shoes stand out. AND STAND OUT THEY DID!

I think that RED is the perfect pop of color for any outfit and I knew it wouldn't take me long to pair these bad boys with something in my closet.

I recently attended the Gaisie Body Essentials glam night out in Richmond a few weekends back and I picked up this cute tee by shantelligence.com. Lord knows I love a cute tee, because you can dress it up or down and the Curls x Curves tee was the perfect one for me. I can't remember exactly how much I paid for it but trust me it was reasonable.

The look could not have been complete with
out my earrings from handbagsandaccessoriesbypinky.com and my super dope matte lippie by lovemariecosmetics.com in the color Harmony. Make sure that you check both of these sites out.

Skort: Jcpenney (I didn't know they made these anymore)

Where I shop for my little ones...

There is nothing more important to me than my family & I will spend every day of my life showing them that. Today I decided to have some fun with the kids. You guys have seen my daughter, but now it is time to introduce you to my son.

These are two of the coolest kids I know. If there is something I love doing better than styling myself, it is styling my kids. If you are like me, you live for Old Navy, Gap, Jcpenney & H & M. There are plenty of other stores that I did not mention, but these are a few of my favorites.

Amaya's outfit:
Shirt: Jcpenney
Pants: Marshalls
Shoes: Burlington

I can shop just about any where for my daughter, as you may no it is much easier to shop for girls than it is for boys.

Noah's Outfit:
Shirt: Old Navy
Pants: Jcpenney
Shoes: Jcpenney

Boys tend to be a little harder than girls because they need better quality items. If your son is anything like mine, he is a true boy & I have to be careful where I shop for him. I can find things at Old Navy, H&M and Jcpenney for him.

I love bringing my kids on board for all the fun I have with the blog. I like sharing with you guys my favorite place to shop for my kids. I used to live in the days where Jordans were something that were a must, however reality soon set in. You do not have to spend lots of money for your kids to be cute & stylish.

As I always say fashion & style should never be taken too seriously. Always remember to have fun!

OOTD: Work doesn't have to be boring....

Recently I started a new job at a law firm and there are a ton of dress code rules. There is no reason that dressing for a professional environment has to be boring. I have always said that style is not something you have to sacrifice just because there are rules. If you are like me the way I dress is self expression and it is very hard to find a happy medium. Unfortunately working in corporate American is something that sometimes can't be avoided.  I am going to show you that you can stull have fun with your style even with a dress code.

I decided to take this cute little number and make it office friendly. Forever21 has to be one of my favorite places to shop. You can find just about anything that you are looking for. This look alone would have never made it pass the front desk at the office, but I will show you how you can make this look office friendly.

I love the print on this skirt, to my surprise it did not rise up.

Accessories:
Earrings: Church Bazaar $2.00
Bracelet: Forever21 $6.95

Necklace: H&M $12.95

And just like that, you are ready for the office. All it took was a simple cardigan. It doesn't take much to change any look into an office friendly one. Don't be afraid to let your style stand out, even at the office.

Shirt: Forever21+ $12.95
Skirt: Forever21+ $12.95 ( may not be exact)
Shoes: Forever21 $34.95
Cardigan: Jcpenney $19.99
Bag: Jcepenney (gift)

OOTD: Featuring my little fashionista

If you are a blogger mommy like myself sometimes it is hard to explain to your loved ones just how time consuming blogging can be. Today I decided to bring my 7 year old fashionista  in the making along for the ride.

She knows that mommy is a fashion blogger, but sometimes she doesn't understand why mommy has to go to events, take lots of pictures or be in front of her computer for hours at a time. When I told her she would be on the blog with me today she was beyond excited. She has modeling experience and loves being in front of a camera so she was more than happy to assist in todays blog post.

We had so much fun, we are already a goofy pair so that made the experience even sweeter. I find that involving your kids in some of the things you do gives them a better understanding of what it is that you do. She even helped me with some poses & helped decide which pictures actually made it on the blog.

Now let's get to the fashion!

As you guys know I love vintage anything and todays outfit is dripping with vintage flare. I purchased my beautiful top from flyandfierce.com for $24.99. I absolutely adore anything that has color in it, for me you can never feel down if your life is full of color. The made my Bermuda shorts out of a old pair of Levi jeans. ( I bleached them myself) The shoes are from the thrift store for only $4.98 & my clutch is also thrifted $.99.

Amaya's entire outfit came from Jcpenney, which is one of my favorite places to shop for her they always have some of the cutest things. Not to mention the prices aren't to bad. I can't give you the exact pricing on this look because this was a gift for her birthday.

It's safe to assume Amaya enjoyed herself & I think this is just the first of many more appearances to come!

OOTD: Cute & Casual

Today I spent the day with my daughter making our rounds to visit family. I decided to keep it cute & casual, whenever you are hanging out with a 6 year old you never know where the day might take you. Like I have said in my previous post, you don't have to have a ton of clothes, you just have to know what to do with the ones you already have. I found this cute cotton stretch bodycon dress that is perfect for just about any occasion at H&M.

I paired it with this cute vest from JCP, which happens to be one of my favorite pieces. I can rock this piece during any season. When you are shopping make sure that you can see versatility in a piece, if you can't see it being worn multiple ways, you don't need it!

Sperry's are from Shoe Carnival, which is becoming my new favorite store. I used to sleep on them, but I am awake, they really have some cute shoes! Not to mention they are gold, and you guys know I love me some ALL GOLD ERR THANG!!!!! Bag is from justfab, you can never go wrong with an oversized black bag.

I wish I could tell you guys where my glasses came from, but I bought them from a vendor while at an event and unfortunately the vendor did not have a website. BUT THEY CUTE THO!!

In the coming weeks I plan on showing you guys how to maximize what you already have in your closet. AND please do not be afraid to style & repeat, there is nothing wrong with rocking a fabulous look more than once, who made that stupid rule anyway??

Are you styling your closet to it's full potential?

OOTD: Thrifty fabulous

There is no better feeling than when you go thrifting and you find that perfect piece. I love blazers, and I love them even more when I find them while thrifting. Blazers are the one thing I constantly look for whenever I am thrifting. I got this blazer a few months ago at my local thrift store and I fell in love with the fit, photos make it look solid red, but it has an equal amount of black detailing. I wasn't always a thrifty kind a girl, I just did not think I would find anything worth my time. BOY WAS I WRONG! Thrifting is definitely not for everyone, but any fashionista can tell you, amazing things come from the thrift store. So think twice the next you pass up a thrifting oppurtunity..lol

I paired the blazer with Levi jeans from Jcpenney, black tank from forever21 and shoes & bag are from justfab.

You don't always have to spend alot to be fabulous.
